THE ATHENA STORY

Founded by two passionate debaters with the germinating idea of creating a professional yet fun platform for students during the lockdown, Athena is a non-profit, for the youth-by the youth organization, dedicated to promoting global issues education through UN simulation. Since the start, Athena’s premier education-based conferences and events have impacted not only Indian but International regions as well. Team Athena has members from around the country, with the same goals in mind.

Athena was initiated to provide a platform to voice youth's opinion out loud on current world affairs, especially during these difficult times where everything has come to a standstill. Each edition of the Athena MUN has various diverse committees, each unique, and with an agenda to improve on the issues our world is facing. Also included, are fictional committees for people who are TV show enthusiasts and wish to discuss their fan theories on an open platform. Our goal is to provide the youth with an enriching experience, which will have a lasting impact. This conference is a chance for students to debate, discuss and come to a consensus on how the world must move forward in such challenging times. Delegates will develop skills such as public speaking, time management, critical thinking, and team leadership skills which will not only benefit them, yet also those who will participate alongside in the conference.  

The first edition of Athena MUN witnessed a participation of more than 100 national and international students. 100% of the proceeds went to charity for the suffering masses during the nationwide lockdown in India.

Athena conferences teach students to cultivate excellent communication and decision making skills by leveraging the power of compromise, consensus, and cooperation for effective negotiations.

By leveraging its unique philosophy and human resources, ATHENA serves as the vanguard in providing engaging and transformative learning opportunities that empower young learners with the skills to be responsible global citizens. Athena aims to inspire the youth and facilitate their journey to global success.
